About Us

Our Approach: Holistic Athlete Wellness

Awareness

We raise awareness around men’s mental health in sport by challenging stigma and reframing mental wellness as a performance and life skill.

Community

We build athlete centered communities that reduce isolation, normalize adversity, and create space for honest connection.

Support

We provide athlete specific tools rooted in regulation, restoration, and recovery to support sustainable mental health and long term well being.

On January 26, 2020, my whole world changed. Finding out that my mom, dad, and sister had died through social media, and everything that followed, was and always will be the hardest thing I will ever experience. At 16, I did not understand what it meant to struggle with mental health until I was forced to face the reality of my new life. Going from a quiet, private life to one where the world constantly reminded me that my entire family was gone was something I could never have prepared for. While I credit my resilience to the lessons and values my parents gave me, learning to navigate trauma and grief would not have been possible without the support of others. While completing my undergraduate degree in Physical Culture and Sport at the University of Texas, I spent three years working for the baseball team, where I was embraced and protected by players and staff who quickly became family. I spent as much time at the baseball field as I could, a place that felt as close to home as I could get. Being part of something bigger than myself gave me purpose and stability during a difficult time. My motivation for creating The Altobelli Foundation is rooted in carrying on my family’s legacy and honoring the world that became my new family. I want to provide the same support, comfort, and acceptance to other male athletes. Everyone faces adversity at some point, and no one should have to face it alone.

With love,

Lexi Altobelli
